The Name

Ensō, 円相 — the circle drawn in a single breath.

En · circle
Wholeness

In Japanese Zen calligraphy, the ensō is painted in one uninterrupted stroke — a circle that never quite closes, standing for a life lived complete, gaps and all.

Balance

Every bowl we whisk is measured the same way the circle is drawn: unhurried, attentive, present. Matcha rewards that kind of pace — it's the whole reason ceremony exists around it.

Beginning again

The brushstroke never lands where it started. We named the cart Ensō because it's ours — a new beginning, poured out one cup at a time.

"Wholeness begins in the smallest moments."

The Cart

A matcha cart, not a café.

Ensō shows up rather than waits for you — a small, mobile setup built to pour ceremonial matcha wherever people already are.

Ensō started as an idea for something small: no storefront, no overhead, just a cart, a whisk, and matcha good enough to serve on its own. It's a mobile setup that pops up at markets, events, and studios instead of asking people to come find a shop.

Everything is made to order in front of you — matcha sifted, water brought to temperature, whisked by hand until it foams.

Made to order

Every cup whisked fresh on the spot, not premixed or bottled.

Sourced from Yame, Japan

Ceremonial-grade matcha grown in one of Japan's oldest tea-growing regions.

Built by hand

The Matcha

Not culinary. Ceremonial.

Ceremonial Grade Yame, Japan Stone-Ground Whisked to Order No Refined Sugar

Everything Ensō pours is ceremonial-grade matcha, stone-ground from shade-grown first-harvest leaves and shipped in directly from Yame, Japan. There's no baking or blending it into anything — this is the tea meant to be whisked with water and drunk on its own, exactly as it's been prepared in Japan for centuries.

That distinction matters. Culinary matcha is bitter, coarse, and made for baking. Ceremonial matcha is vivid green, stone-milled to a silk-fine powder, and naturally smooth enough to drink straight — which is the only way we serve it.

The Ensō Experience

It's not just a drink. It's a moment to breathe.

Every cup is crafted as a small daily ritual — a reason to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy something made with intention. Rooted in the spirit of the ensō circle, we believe wellness doesn't need to be complicated. It starts in the smallest moments, one whisked bowl at a time.

About Leah

Started by someone who just really loves matcha.

My name is Leah Mansur, and I've been drinking matcha since I was fourteen — long before I knew what "ceremonial grade" even meant. It started as one cup in the morning and turned into a genuine obsession with where it comes from, how it's grown, and how much of a difference real, high-quality matcha makes.

I always wanted to build something around it, but I didn't know where to start. So I started small: a cart, not a café. One bowl, whisked properly, made from matcha I'd actually want to drink myself. Ensō is that first step — imperfect, in motion, and mine.

FAQ

Good questions, honest answers.

Where is your matcha from?

Our matcha comes from Yame, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan — one of the country's oldest and most respected tea-growing regions.

Is your matcha ceremonial grade?

Yes. Every drink starts with 100% ceremonial-grade matcha — the same grade meant to be whisked and drunk on its own, not the coarser culinary grade used for baking.

Do you offer dairy-free milk?

Yes. Oat, almond, or your preferred dairy-free milk is available on any drink at no extra step.

What is Ensō Fluff?

Ensō Fluff is our house-made foam topping, whipped without refined sugar. It sits on top of our drinks to make them feel richer and creamier, without adding anything artificial.

Do you use refined sugar?

No. Every drink on the menu is made without refined sugar — sweetness comes from real fruit, spice, and the matcha itself.
